Currently based in Zürich, Co-founder and Executive Director of PROJECT21st Sharon Chan focuses her practice in transdisciplinary performances, curatorial work and research. She was General Manager of the Hong Kong New Music Ensemble from 2012 to 2019, and was Creative Producer for Special Projects of the Ensemble from 2019 to 2020. As an experienced performing arts producer and manager, she has been invited to give presentations in conferences and festivals such as the Classical:NEXT (2018) and GRiNM (Gender and Diversity in New Music) Network Conference (2019). 

In 2021, Chan completed physical theatre training course “Physical Acting Lab by Ata Wong”. Her recent performances include Tino Sehgal’s These Associations (Tai Kwun Contemporary, 2021), #1314 (Théâtre de la Feuille, 2021), Venture into the Unknown: Eroica Reimagined (The Orchestra Academy, 2022), Scavengers (Théâtre de la Feuille, 2023).

Chan graduated from the University of Hong Kong in 2011, with a Master of Philosophy in Musicology. Working closely with composer Charles Kwong in artistic and curatorial practices since 2018, the artist duo is currently undertaking the MA in Transdisciplinary Studies at the Zurich University of the Arts.
